Putnamville State Correctional Facility in Indiana is a medium security 2460 bed facility. In 2007, the facility installed the
I-CON system and other minor water conservation measures.

After the installation, with the
I-CON portion of the retrofit saving approximately 70%, the facility reduced its total water usage by approximately 50% every month. At five Chino California correctional facilities, they’re saving approximately 119 million gallons of water annually and the plant managers report high satisfaction with the I-CON products.

Water conservation is critical, not just for California or correctional facilities but for all communities around the globe. After retrofitting approximately 20 institutions, the Florida Dept of Corrections is currently saving over 200 MILLION gallons of water annually at those facilities. The total number of gallons that FDOC has conserved since starting the I-CON retrofit in 2003, is over 1 BILLION.
That’s enough water to supply approximately 10,000 residential homes with water annually. This has saved the State of Florida & taxpayers over $6.2 MILLION.
